About Danny Y. Huang

I am a fifth-year Computer Science Ph.D. student at UC San Diego. I am broadly interested in the economics of cyber-crimes, as well as human aspects of network security problems. My current projects focus on how Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies are shaping the future of financial markets.

I am a member of the Systems and Networking Group and the Security Group. I am advised by Alex Snoeren and Kirill Levchenko. My committee members include Stefan Savage, Geoff Voelker, and Terry August.

Prior to UCSD, I earned my Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Computer Science at Williams College, a liberal arts college in Massachusetts, where Jeannie Albrecht was my advisor.

Outside of computer science, I am the director and producer of Cooking with Steven, a two-season cooking show that teaches college students how to cook simple, healthy and authentic Chinese food. I also read/write, cook, make films and photographs.

I also co-chair the Williams Asian (American) Alumni Network, where I am the product manager for our Facebook page.

I am currently running the Altcoin Community Survey:
